Chris Hill, general manager of Dick Hill and Son Heating & AC Inc, said the company informs, educates and offers "comfort products."

The company, founded in 1953, was acquired by Ace Hardware earlier this month.

"We are not just a HVAC company selling furnaces and air conditioners," Hill told EC Indiana News. "We inform, educate, and offer comfort products."

Hill's grandfather, Dick Hill, started the business in 1953. He was an electrician, and the company's services at the time were wiring and baseboard heat. In the early 1970s, Chris' father, Ron Hill, added HVAC services.

Chris Hill began working for the company full time in 1993. During his high school years, he worked part-time during the summers. After completing college, he returned home with the intention of immersing himself in the family business. His journey within the company began as an Installer, and he gradually transitioned to roles such as Service Tech and Sales. At the age of 27, due to his father's health issues, he took on the responsibility of running the company. In 2015, he took the significant step of purchasing the business from his father.

Dick Hill and Son specializes in servicing, maintaining, and installing HVAC equipment for both residential and light commercial clients. The company has consistently leveraged technology to enhance the overall customer journey. Notably, the company integrated mobile service management into their operations in 2012, followed by the adoption of ServiceTitan in 2017.

Dick Hill and Son utilizes iPads to coordinate services for their customers, which has significantly enhanced the overall customer experience, enables customers to access multiple options and facilitates improved communication. In the past, customers were typically presented with just one or two choices, but with the use of these devices, the company can now better tailor its offerings to meet individual customer needs and provide immediate pricing quotes. 

In August of 2023, Dick Hill and Son Heating & AC Inc was acquired by Ace Hardware, according to a press release. In the release, Chris Hill said that he's enthusiastic about their new partnership with Ace Hardware and is excited to grow the business even further in conjunction with the Home Services Team at Ace.
