Women's Basketball: IU East at Siena Heights Tournament Preview

The Indiana University East women's basketball team is headed to Michigan for the Siena Heights University Holiday Tournament this week.

The Red Wolves play the host Saints in the opener of the three-team affair on Dec. 28, while facing No. 19 University of St. Francis (Illinois) the following day.

IU East is 4-10 overall after falling 80-75 at home to IU Southeast in a River States Conference contest on Dec. 20.

Siena Heights is 10-3 as the Saints are coming off at 79-68 victory over Washington Adventist on Dec. 18.

St. Francis has a record of 11-2. The Fighting Saints beat Holy Cross College 93-72 on Dec. 10.

6 p.m. - IU East vs. Siena Heights

Thursday, December 29

5 p.m. - IU East vs. St. Francis

Friday, December 30

6 p.m. - St. Francis vs. Siena Heights

Fred Smith Court at the Siena Heights Fieldhouse is located on the southside of campus near the baseball and softball fields with an address of 1247 E. Siena Heights Dr., Adrian, MI 49221.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* Wednesday's contest marks the first meeting between IU East and Siena Heights. The Red Wolves are 0-3 all-time against St. Francis. St. Francis is 6-1 versus Siena Heights.

* Siena Heights is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, while St. Francis competes in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.  

* Davina Smith led IU East with a season-high 25 points against IU Southeast.

* Kayla Hinton had a double-double for Siena Heights with 20 points and 12 assists against Washington Adventist.

* Jordan Pyle led St. Francis in its conference win over Holy Cross with 30 points and 10 rebounds.
