Women's Basketball: Marian at IU East Preview

The Indiana University East women's basketball team faces another non-conference opponent this week as the Red Wolves entertain No. 6 Marian University on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The battle with the Knights on Lingle Court begins at 1 p.m.

IU East is 4-8 overall and 3-2 in the River States Conference. The Red Wolves are looking for a second straight win after an 111-105 victory over Olivet Nazarene University earlier this week.

Marian is 11-1 with a 5-0 mark in the Crossroads League. The Knights won 71-63 in league play the last time they were on the court at Huntington University on Dec. 10.

General admission for IU East basketball is $7. IU East students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their university ID.

* Addie Brown set an IU East school record for points in a game with 42 against Olivet Nazarene. She tops the Red Wolves in scoring at 16.9 points per game.

* Kennedy Griffin added 22 points against Olivet Nazarene as she averages 16.0 points a contest.

* Davina Smith was the third player in double figures for the Red Wolves against Olivet Nazarene with 18 points, while leading the way with eight rebounds.

* Winners of six in a row, Marian's only loss this season was 69-61 decision to No. 4 Carroll College in a tournament at Indiana Wesleyan University on Nov. 12.

* The Knights have four players averaging double digits in scoring led by Ella Collier with 17.8 PPG. The others are Aliyah Evans (11.3), Olivia Faust (10.8) and Abbey McNally (10.6).
