Women's basketball downed by Muskies
The Earlham College women's basketball team was stopped in the fourth quarter of a 63-58 loss at Muskingum University on Saturday evening.
Neely Trenshaw led the Quakers with 17 points. Sophomore Amari Bradford went 6-for-10 and scored 14 points for EC. Bradford also led the squad in rebounds with nine.
The Quakers jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Muskies responded with an 11-0 run to lead 11-8.
Trailing 15-13 at the end of the opening frame, Earlham outscored the home squad 36-31 in the middle two quarters. The Quakers carried a 49-46 lead heading into the final frame.
The Quake still had the upper hand, and led 55-52 at the 3:52 mark of the fourth quarter. Muskingum took the lead off a 7-0 run, and shut out the Quakers in the final 1:45 of action.
The Quakers will continue their season on Tuesday at home against Spalding University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm in Druley Performance Gym.
