Red Wolves Fall To Oakland City
Addie Brown scored a team-high 20 points and Davina Smith (14) and Selena Granado were also in double figures as the Red Wolves fell against Oakland City on Saturday, 94-82.
Addie Brown led the Red Wolves with 20 points while Davina Smith and Selena Granado were also in double figures, scoring 14 and 12 respectively.
Brown started the scoring off for the Red Wolves with an and-1 play to tie the game at 3-3. The Red Wolves later tied it again at 12-12 before the Mighty Oaks regained the lead and led the rest of the way. Trailing 25-17, Granado hit 3-straight triples for IU East, bringing the deficit down to two points with a minute left in the first. That was the closest the Red Wolves would get the rest of the game.
Oakland City later stretched their lead to double-figures in the second quarter and led by as much as 15 in the first half. At the halftime break, IU East trailed 47-37.
The Red Wolves would get as close at eight in the third quarter. But the Mighty Oaks went on a 13-4 run to pull away.
IU East will travel to Cumberlands on Tuesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
