Women's Golf: Iu East At Tpc Deere Run Invitational Day 2 Recap

Women's Golf: Iu East At Tpc Deere Run Invitational Day 2 Recap

A second day of poor weather conditions forced the cancellation of the final round at the Tournament Players Club Deere Run Invitational on Oct. 18.

As a result, the Indiana University East women's golf team had just one round of scores from Monday's opening day.

"This trip was beneficial for us," IU East coach Billy Mullin said. "We found a level of competitiveness and mental toughness that we have lacked this fall. We played in very adverse weather conditions on a championship level venue against the very best teams in the country."

"We fared pretty well," Mullin added. "Our goal is to be back here in May for nationals."

The Red Wolves finished 15th as a team as No. 4 Dalton State University (Ga.) and the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) were tied for the title.

Liv Sanders led IU East with an 88. Katie Craig carded a 92, while the other scores were Jalyn Bruns 95, Annie Gillock 96 and Brooklynn Cromwell 97.

This event was the final tournament of the fall for the Red Wolves.

The NAIA National Championships are scheduled for TPC Deere Run Invitational on May 23-26, 2023.
