Red Wolves Voted Third In Rsc Preseason Poll
Following a 25-8 record and a trip to the NAIA National Championship, the IU East women's basketball team is slotted at No. 3 in the 2022-23 RSC Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Red Wolves earned 117 votes, 10 ahead of fourth place West Virginia Tech. Rio Grande was the top vote getter with 142 points.
IU East shifts divisions starting this year. The Red Wolves will now be in the west division and were voted to finish second in the division behind Midway. The Eagles knocked the Red Wolves out of the RSC Tournament in the semis last year.
Wrapping up the media day festivities, the RSC released the Preseason All-Conference Team. Senior Addie Brown and junior Kennedy Griffin were the Red Wolves named to the team. Brown led the team with 16.7 points per game in 2021-22. She started all 31 games and averaged 27 minutes a game. Griffin averaged 13.6 points and 4 rebounds per game.
The Red Wolves will open their season on Oct. 28 against No. 12 Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, IN.
