Cross Country: Iu East At Brescia Invitational Preview

The Indiana University East cross country teams are preparing for the Brescia University Invitational on Friday, Oct. 7.

The men's 8k race on the course in Yellow Creek Park starts at 5:30 p.m. (IU East time). The women's 5k event is scheduled to get underway at 6:15 p.m.

Yellow Creek Park was the site of the River States Conference Championships in 2011 and 2018.

Yellow Creek Park is located at 5710 KY-144 in Owensboro, KY 42303. Owensboro is on Central time.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* The IU East men won the team title at Nike XC Town Twilight on Friday, Sept. 30. It was the first victory in a meet for men since 2016 as the Red Wolves had 20 points.

* IU East's women were third in the same event as many of the Red Wolves had personal best times.

* Tucker Burris ran a school record time of 25:40.6 for the Red Wolves to take the men's individual title in Terre Haute.

* Also finishing in the top 10 for the Red Wolves were Chance Klipstine (26:23.9, 4th) Teagen Rodriguez (26:31.3, 6th) and Mylan Nocton (26:32.0, 7th).

* Hannah Best led the IU East women with a time of 25:32.4, which put her in 12th place. Julia Arruda (25:44.8, 13th) and Sarah Kwiatkowski (25:51.5, 15th) were also in the top 20 for IU East.
