Volleyball: Weekend Preview

The Indiana University East volleyball team faces a pair of River States Conference opponents this weekend.

The Red Wolves are at IU Southeast on Friday, Oct. 7., while on Saturday, IU East entertains Alice Lloyd College on Lingle Court at 2 p.m.

IU East is 15-4 overall and 5-2 in the conference after winning 25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 25-16 at Midway University earlier this week.

IU Southeast is 9-8, 5-3 after falling to St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in five sets on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Alice Lloyd is 4-8, 0-5. The Eagles travel to Ohio Christian University on Friday, Oct. 7.

The IU Southeast Activities Building is located on campus at 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany, Ind.

Live video and live stats for the IU Southeast match also are scheduled to be available.

General admission for IU East volleyball is $7 per day. IU East students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their university ID.

The GPS address for Lingle Court is 2325 Chester Boulevard in Richmond.

Live video, produced by Whitewater Education Television (WETV), Comcast Channel 20, and live stats also are scheduled to be available the Alice Lloyd contest.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* Reece Shirley was recently named the RSC Setter of the Week for the Red Wolves for the third time this season. 

* IU East leads the all-time series with IU Southeast at 16-10. The Grenadiers won in five sets last fall in Richmond.

* The Red Wolves are 4-0 all-time against Alice Lloyd having not played since 2015.

* Teah Barrett Matthews led IU East with 24 kills at Midway, while Jessica Swimm had 15 kills and 20 digs.

* Briann Robinson had four aces versus Midway, while Ella Bickel had 20 digs.
