Yesterday CCFD responded to a report of a vehicle fire around the 137 mile marker on I-70. Before arriving on scene it was obvious by the smoke column that the semi was fully involved. Crews worked hard to extinguish the fire and got it knocked it down quickly. It was especially challenging due to the semi being loaded with refrigerated animal fat that burned aggressively. We are pleased to report that there were no injuries. A huge thanks for Hagerstown Fire Department, Davis Towing, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and Indiana State Police for all the help.
