Men's Golf Signee: Sam Firebaugh From Zionsville, Ind.
Sam Firebaugh of the Camden (S.C.) Military Academy has signed a letter of intent to play men's golf at Indiana University East starting with the 2022-23 season.
Red Wolves coach Jeff Williams made the announcement on July 4.
"We believe we got a really good one with Sam's signing," Williams said.
Firebaugh played two seasons Camden Academy after two years at Zionsville (Ind.) High School.
"Having spent his final two high school years in South Carolina, he kind of flew under the radar and we were lucky enough to nab him," Williams said. "The transition to college golf can be challenging, but I would not be surprised if Sam is immediately in the mix for playing time."
Sam is the son of Aimee and Jared Firebaugh with plans of majoring in Communications.
"I liked the family feel and how it was close to home," Firebaugh said of his decision to play at IU East.
Firebaugh is another member of the 2022 IU East recruiting class to be announced this spring.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolves finished second at the 2022 River States Conference Championships.
