Ivy Tech Community College Announces Recipients of the Indiana Career and Technical Education Awards for Excellence

Ivy Tech Community College today announced its recipients of the Indiana Career and Technical Education Awards for Excellence (AFE), a program that highlights the outstanding achievements of Career and Technical Education (CTE) students, partners, and career advisement programs around the state that exemplify the ideal qualities of Career and Technical Education.

Recipients were honored at a special ceremony, where several Ivy Tech Community College students were awarded this honor due to their faithful work exemplifying the ideal qualities of CTE. The winners of these awards are exceptional individuals who have contributed to the success of CTE through the quality of their work and their involvement in the CTE community.

Recipients were chosen by a selection committee made up of volunteers representing business, industry, state agencies, and education. Ivy Tech students represented three out of four award categories.

“Career and Technical Education is a vital component of our state’s workforce development,” said Sue Ellspermann, President of Ivy Tech. “These students, programs, and campuses have set a remarkable example for our College and are worthy recipients of these awards. I am confident they will continue to impact high demand careers.”

This year’s Indiana Career and Technical Education Awards for Excellence recipients are:

CTE Secondary Student Award Winner: Hadassah Katz, Ivy Tech Bloomington, Nursing

CTE Secondary Program of Study/Pathway Award Winners: Cyber Academy at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC), Ivy Tech Columbus; Electronics and Engineering Technology Pathway, Ivy Tech Fort Wayne; Medical Assisting Program, Ivy Tech Bloomington

CTE Partnership Award Winner: MCCSC Pathway to Licensure, Monroe County Schools, Ivy Tech Bloomington, St. Mary of the Woods—Teacher licensure
