22

The Earlham College baseball team has qualified for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in Kokomo, Ind. taking place over the weekend. The Quakers earned the No. 2 seed after finishing in a tie for second in the final standings with Rose-Hulman.

THE FORMAT

The tournament is set up in a double-elimination bracket. Earlham will face off with No. 3 Rose-Hulman on Thursday at 3:30 pm in the first round of play. A Quaker win would put them through to the next round where they would play the winner of No. 1 Franklin and No. 4 Anderson/No. 5 Hanover on Friday. A loss would send Earlham to the losers bracket where they would play the loser of the Anderson and Hanover game.

Christian Lancianese leads off the Quaker batting order with 41 hits, eight doubles, two triples and six homers. Nathan Lancianese boasts a .353 average with 48 hits and 15 doubles, both team highs.
