Of the 9,700 people living in Decatur in 2020, 49.1 percent (4,766) were women and 50.9 percent (4,934) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the EC Indiana News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 71. In the 65 and over age range, there were 1,149 females and 663 males.
