On Tuesday the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference awarded weekly honors for offensive and defensive players of the week, as voted on by the conference. This week, Earlham College freshman Josie Whorton earned Offensive Player of the Week after a 1-1 week in HCLC competition for the Quakers.
Whorton began the week with two goals and an assist in a conference loss to Hanover on Thursday. She then led the offense with seven goals in a 16-15 thriller over Mount St. Joseph on Saturday.
The freshman took 15 shots on the week and collected seven ground balls.
"All the incredible work that Josie has been putting in and outside of practice has truly shown in our last conference matchups and led to this well-deserved recognition. I can't wait to see the milestones she'll continue reaching during her time at Earlham!" From Head Coach Yousra Manar on Whorton's recognition.
The Quakers will have a week off after their game against Spaulding was canceled, and will return to action on April 27 at home against Anderson. Earlham will then close out its season with Transylvania in Darrell Beane Stadium on April 29.
