Indiana University-East recently issued the following announcement.
Carli Cox, a 5-8 senior at Hagerstown (Ind.) high School, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Indiana University East starting with the 2022-23 school year.
Red Wolves coach Kim McConaha announced the signing March 30.
"Carli is a great addition to our program. She is a coachable, hard-working and enthusiastic athlete," McConaha said. "Carli makes those around her better and celebrates her teammates' successes. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and grind. She is exactly what this program needs."
Cox led Hagerstown's conference-champion team in kills and hitting average this past fall, and also recorded 275 assists and 232 digs. She was The (New Castle) Courier-Times area player of the year, the MyTeamLive player of the year and Tri-Eastern Conference player of the year. She was a part of two Indiana sectional champion teams at Hagerstown.
Carli is the daughter of Tina and Aaron Cox.
"I really love the atmosphere and team chemistry," Cox wrote of her choice to attend IU East. "It really is a culture here - very competitive and goal-oriented."
Cox joins a growing IU East volleyball 2022 recruiting class.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolves finished the 2021 fall schedule with the program's 11th 20-win season and fourth RSC East Division title in the last five years.
