Women's tennis downs Berea at home

The Earlham College women's tennis team won its opening home match of the 2022-23 season against Berea College 6-3 on Saturday afternoon. 

Maddie Cherry took the win in No.1 singles 6-1, 6-0 to lead the Quakers in singles competition. Bailey Weaver took No.2 singles 6-1, 6-2 over the Mountaineers. Saki Takizawa won at No.3 singles 6-3, 6-2. Gabby Johns rounded out the singles lineup with a win at 6-1, 6-0.

The Quakers swept both No.1 and No.2 doubles with Cherry and Takizawa winning 8-2, and Faith Silver joining Johns to win 8-4.

The Quakers will be back in action next week at the PTR Spring Tennis Fest.
