The Earlham College women's lacrosse team paid tribute to its four senior members with a 15-12 win over Anderson University for Senior Day in Darrell Beane Stadium on Wednesday.

The Quakers improved to 3-9 (3-2 HCLC) while the Ravens fell to 4-9 (0-4 HCLC).

Senior Serena Pisacano led the offense with three goals and two assists from 11 shots on the day. She was joined by Jillian Schlieper and Mollie Lyon who also scored a trio of goals each. Josie Whorton and Meredith McGraw also scored multiple goals in the contest.

Johnette Williams and Maya Claggett led the defense with a combined nine caused turnovers and seven ground balls.

Mackenzie Kotch collected five saves and earned the win in the cage.

The Quakers got hot early with six goals in the opening 10 minutes of play. Lyon got the party started with an unassisted score four minutes into the contest. The Ravens offense caught a spark in the final four minutes of the first quarter, and the visitors scored three goals to end the period.

Lyon led the second quarter with a goal in the opening three minutes. After an Anderson score, the Quakers rattled off six consecutive goals, which spanned over 15 minutes of gametime and nearly two quarters.

After the run, Earlham led 13-4 with 5:44 remaining in the third quarter. The Ravens followed with a pair of goals before Pisacano recorded her second of the contest with 2:35 remaining in the third frame. Anderson ended the quarter with another pair of goals to bring the score to 14-8 going into the final frame.

With the momentum siding with Anderson, the visiting squad scored two goals in the opening three minutes of action to keep closing the deficit. Pisacano tallied her final goal of the contest with 6:22 remaining after an assist from Claudette Roskamp behind the goal. The Anderson offense lost its steam in the final quarter and despite two more goals in the final five minutes, could not recover the deficit.

The Quakers honored Roskamp, Pisacano, Claggett, and Theo Hunt as part of pregame festivities for their contributions to the program over the past four years.

Next up for the Quakers is the final game of the regular season, Earlham will host Transylvania University on Friday at 7 pm in Darrell Beane Stadium for the conclusion of the 2022 season. With a current ranking of third in the HCLC, the Quakers are in a good position to make the conference tournament regardless of the result on Friday.
