RSC Honors for Red Wolf Quartet

2

The Indiana University East athletic department collected four River States Conference athlete of the week honors, the league announced April 25.

Chance Klipstine was named RSC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance. Klipstine ran the top time in the RSC this year for the 800 meters at the Indiana Little State Championship. His time of 1:56.72 ranks first in the conference and is the second-fastest time in school history. Next up for Klipstine and the Red Wolves is the RSC Outdoor Track & Field Championship April 29-30 at Rio Grande (Ohio).

Emiliano Tercero earned RSC Men's Golfer of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance. Tercero led the Red Wolves at the crosstown Earlham College Spring Invitational at the Richmond Elks Lodge and Country Club. He shot two rounds in the 70s to place ninth of 60 golfers. He shot 78 and 74 on the par-70 layout.

Jo Wisecup, with her play in the first round of the RSC Women's Golf Championship, earned RSC Women's Golfer of the Week. Wisecup is highlighted for her play in the first 18 holes on Sunday from Belterra Golf Club. She shot 4-over 76 as the championship opened with swirling winds along with the firm and fast greens. The senior led the Red Wolves to second place through the first two days and continued to lead the tournament through 36 holes. The final round is April 26. The conference awarded a Golfer of the Week after the first round of the event due to the deadlines required to be eligible for the NAIA's national player of the week awards.

Linda Marino helped the Red Wolves to the outright conference regular-season title to earn RSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance. Marino picked up quality wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles as IU East improved to 7-0 RSC to clinch the outright regular-season crown for the second year in a row. Versus Brescia, she won her singles match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 and the doubles matchup 7-5 as part of a 6-1 team victory. She earned a first-set win in singles versus No. 3-ranked Indiana Wesleyan before the match was clinched by IWU, 4-0. IU East will compete in the RSC Women's Tennis Championship starting April 29.

Brown & Brown Insurance is the Official Student-Athlete Accident, Health, Property and Casualty Insurance Endorsed Broker for the River States Conference.
